Update 7 March 2024 – Government launches consultation on night flights
Greg is alerting residents that the Government has launched a consultation titled: Night flight restrictions: Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports from October 2025 and Greg encourages residents to respond to this consultation before the deadline on 22 May 2024. To read more and respond, click here.
Greg’s action does not stop there; in response to this consultation, he has launched a new petition urging a comprehensive ban on night flights at Heathrow Airport between 23:00 and 06:00.
You can sign it HERE!
Greg hears first-hand from concerned and distressed residents, who are directly under Heathrow’s flight path, about the detrimental impact the noise of night flights has on their lives.
As a reminder, Greg is firmly against night flights. They are a wholly unnecessary strain on the liveability of London including Chelsea and Fulham and are indefensible due to the negative effect they have on hundreds of thousands of people’s sleep. Greg has always opposed night flights and he has campaigned against them across successive Governments.
Only implementing an outright ban on night flights between 23:00 and 06:00 would truly stop noise disturbance and safeguard overflown communities from adverse health impacts. If you agree, sign his petition!

Update 5 September 2023 - Latest News on Heathrow
As you will remember from Greg’s resignation from the Government in 2018, to vote against the third runway at Heathrow, Greg always puts his constituents and our local area first.
Therefore, he is highlighting the Council for the Independent Scrutiny of Heathrow Airport’s (CISHA) latest project. This is to seek community views on air quality and he encourages constituents to express their views by taking CISHA’s survey here.
CISHA, which is newly formed, provides independent oversight over the way in which Heathrow Airport engages with communities. Including us in Chelsea and Fulham. CISHA aims to hold the airport to account and work to help ensure it is a more responsible neighbour.
The project seeks to understand the community's concerns around air quality in the area and their views on Heathrow’s actions with regards to monitoring and improving air quality. The research will involve engaging with residents at community events, focus groups and an open survey.

As you will remember from Greg’s resignation from the Government in 2018, to vote against the third runway at Heathrow, Greg always puts his constituents and our local area first.
Greg is against the expansion of Heathrow Airport. He believes that proposals for the expansion of Heathrow Airport, such as a third runway, will have a negative impact on constituents in Chelsea and Fulham.
Greg is also against night flights. They are a wholly unnecessary strain on the liveability of London, including Chelsea and Fulham and are indefensible due to the negative effect they have on thousands of people's sleep. Greg has always opposed night flights and has campaigned against them across successive Governments.
As your local Member of Parliament, Greg has campaigned against the expansion of Heathrow and night flights for more than a decade. He has worked tirelessly for the local community, including launching petitions, chaired and hosted public Q and A meetings which representatives from Heathrow attended, responded to multiple consultations and met Ministers frequently to make the case. Greg has been a member of the Government for most of the last 10 years, and in that time, no significant expansion of Heathrow Airport has taken place.
Greg has always kept constituents involved in the fight against Heathrow expansion and against night flights. Therefore, he would like to make residents aware that in his recent meeting with the Minister for Aviation Baroness Vere of Norbiton, they discussed an upcoming consultation on night flights which is expected to take place later this year in 2023. Greg will update you further in due course.
Ultimately, since Greg’s resignation from the Government five years ago in 2018, Heathrow Airport still does not have a third runway. Greg has always stood up for his constituents and he will continue to fight against Heathrow’s expansion, and against night flights.
Greg will continue to follow developments closely and keep residents updated.
