Update 1 November 2023 - A cluster of skyscrapers in Earl’s Court
This week, on Wednesday 1 November, Greg had a useful meeting with the Earl’s Court Development Company (ECDC).
Greg frequently meets ECDC, to receive updates on their plans and progress on the future development of the site.
It was great for Greg to discuss the many welcome aspects of their proposed development, including:
- 4,000 much needed new homes.
- Fantastic cultural and employment opportunities
- The focus on ensuring the site is eco-friendly.
However, ECDC are proposing a cluster of skyscrapers, up to 42 storeys high, which Greg is concerned will change our community for ever.
Bearing in mind that the existing stand-alone tall tower on Lillie Road, the Empress State Building, is 31 storeys. The jump to 42 storeys is quite something!
ECDC have informed Greg that their next consultation phase will start on Wednesday, 15 November and like previous consultations periods, residents will be able to learn more about their plans and view a model of the site at the Conversation Corner space in the former Metropolitan Police Heritage Centre on Lillie Road (opposite Hotel Lily).
Greg encourages residents to please keep their eyes peeled for further information on days and times as he will share this with residents as soon as it is available!
As always, Greg is keen to hear residents’ views on this development so please do email him at: firstname.lastname@example.org with your feedback!

Update 3 March 2023 - Greg Hands MP sees Earl’s Court Development plans which are finally available!
On 23 February 2023 Greg Hands MP met the Earl’s Court Development Company (ECDC) to view their draft masterplan which is finally available.
The development of the Earl’s Court site is going to be one of the biggest developments across our local area - the huge plot itself is around 40 acres.
Greg welcomes that at last, progress is being made. However, ECDC’s plans show buildings as high as 38 storeys. These buildings would be even taller than the Empress State Building, the existing stand-alone tall tower on Lillie Road.
Greg was pleased to learn that residents can view the plans for 5 weeks at the new Conversation Corner space in the former Metropolitan Police Heritage Centre on Lillie Road (opposite Hotel Lily) and he is very much urging residents to go along.
It is open 4 days a week (Wednesday – Saturday) at the following times:
- Wednesdays: 12pm - 4pm
- Thursdays and Fridays: 3pm - 7pm
- Saturdays: 11am - 3pm
After you have been along to the new Conversation Corner to see the plans for yourself, Greg is keen to hear your views.
Let Greg know what you think by emailing him at: email@example.com or by filling in his survey, which is available here: www.greghands.com/earls-court-development-consultation
Greg looks forward to hearing from constituents!
