Petition calling on LBHF to cancel its SW6 traffic scheme

Fulham has been blighted by traffic chaos and increased pollution following the introduction of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham’s controversial ‘SW6 traffic reduction scheme’.

Under the scheme, the restricted roads are only accessible to permitted vehicles, while other road users are fined. Visitors, traders, carers, and essential delivery drivers all fall out of the scope of the scheme and are subsequently penalised, with only provisions for residents to apply for a visitor permit on every occasion and restrictively limited to one per household.

I have written to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to express my serious concerns about the introduction of this scheme and have been contacted by many residents who have also expressed solemn concerns. I recognise the difficulties and added congestion this is causing for my constituents, particularly with the continued closure of Hammersmith Bridge by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and Transport for London.

To address this, I am calling on local residents and commuters to support my petition below calling on the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to immediately cancel its ‘SW6 traffic reduction scheme’, which is causing gridlock across South Fulham for local residents and business owners.

We the undersigned demand the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to immediately cancel its ‘SW6 traffic reduction scheme’.
