The Civil Aviation Bill has been before Parliament this year - and Greg Hands MP has been arguing strongly for the government to take real action against the growing menace of night flights.

The Department for Transport wanted to increase the number of night flights from 5,800 to 6,420 between 4.00am and 6.30am.

Thanks to the House of Lords, the cap on flights before 6.00am will remain in place until 2012.

Despite this tempoarary concession, Greg believes it is time for the government to ban all night flights, so that residents can finally get a decent night’s sleep.

Greg has also been investigating the recent increase in helicopter traffic - and is calling for a London wide helicopter strategy.
